Grande Hotel, Beira, Mozambique
The Grande Hotel in Beira, Mozambique, was build during the aera of Portuguese colonisation; at that time it was considered being the biggest hotel in Southern Africa.
During Independence War in the 1970s the place was taken over by Mozambican forces that came from all parts of the country, military and migration. From now on, the Grande Hotel served as the main accomodation for forces against the Portuguese.

Opening of the Music-Editory “Bom Dia” in Inhambane, Mozambique
Information about activities of Bom Dia, starting off in Dezember 2007
Work on music documentary, fusion of traditional music and contemporary music, promotion of various cultures in accordance with the autonomy and freedom of expression of the artists.
Brief summary of activities of the project
Production of a traditional music CD with the artist Felisberto from Inharrime in Dezember 2006 and January 2007 as a form of traditional music preservation and valorisation. Ein alter Taschentrick
Chimoio, 2.2.2007, auf dem Weg von Beira nach Manica, um meinen alten Freund Meini zu besuchen, steigen wir zum ersten Mal auf unserer Reise in einem Backpacker, dem Pink Papaya, ab. Nahe der zimbabwesischen Grenze wird viel Englisch gesprochen, viele einheimisch anmutende Gesichter erstummen beim Versuch, eine Konversation auf Portugiesisch zu führen.
Das Haus des Backpackers ist auf den ersten Blick eigenartig, da der Großteil der Aussenwände zum größten Teil mit Pink ausgemalt ist. Read the rest of this entry »
